I know my project/program will do wonders in the community, so why do I need a grant writer to find funds?

Many of the non-profits we come across are doing great work, and all certainly want to do great work. The problem, however, is that unless they are able to communicate program or project value in a compelling manner, the great work will remain unrecognized by potential clients and funding agencies.

Having worked at a managerial level for non-profits for years, we understand the need and the dedicated individuals that make up this sector. Portraying a commitment to the community, defining measurable goals and objectives, creating systems to evaluate your success, and guiding the non-profit along the grant funding continuum is what we do. If your organization is prepared and committed, funding is not far away.

Why can't I pay a grant writer a percentage of the funds that he/she raises for us?

First and foremost, it is unethical, and many times illegal. Similar to a lawyer, accountant, social worker, or drug counselor, a grant writer is providing a service – a vital one at that. As a non-profit the grant writer is part of your overall fundraising plan. He/she serves as an investment in your group's future programs, and their compensation on an annual basis should be far, far less than the amount of money they bring in.

What do you charge and how can I get a quote?

After writing grants for some time, we have come to recognize that all are unique. Some are more time-consuming and challenging then others. As a result, we cannot offer fixed rates.
